2020 Online Winter School by School of Economics is open for application

Announcement of Online Winter School

1. Introduction

In winter 2020, the School of Economics (SOE) of Fudan University is going to provide 13 online courses taught in English, covering economics, finance, management, data science, etc. By tapping into the world-class resources of Fudan University, we aim to bring you an exciting and enriching winter!


2. Program Time

December 21, 2020 - January 10, 2021


3. Language of Instruction

English

4. Requirements for Applicants

Applicants over 18 years old who are interested in the courses offered. (Please refer to the course list below.)


5. Teaching Method

Online teaching (due to Covid-19).


6. Assessment and Grading

Assessment is decided by the course instructor.

The final grades for each course are assigned in A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D, and F. F means failure. The number of students getting A or A- does not exceed 30% of each course’s registered students.

7. Course Selection Rules:

1) No more than 2 courses;

2) The program office will evaluate course selections in early December. If there are fewer than 5 students applying for a particular course, the program office has the right to cancel the course and notify the students. Then students have two options, either to select another course to replace the cancelled one, or to quit the program with full tuition refunded (application fee is non-refundable).


8. Certificate

After successful completion of the program, students will obtain the certificate and transcript (non-degree education).


9. Steps of Application:

1) The program office will review the course selections and adjust course offerings in early December. Applicants will be notified with the updated course list in time. If one or both your courses are cancelled, you can either choose one or two other courses to replace the cancelled ones, or quit the program and apply for full refund of tuition (application fee will NOT be refunded unless the program is cancelled).

2) Application deadline: 8:00 pm, December 06, 2020, Beijing Time

  For Chinese applicants (Chinese citizens from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan):

a) Apply through the application portal. (Please fill in the application form, upload the application materials, and submit your course selection decision which cannot be modified unless the program office cancels the courses.)

b) Upon submission of the online application, applicants will be notified by an email to pay the application fee (RMB 400).

c) Upon receipt of the application fee, the program office will start to review your application.

d) Once admitted, applicants will receive the admission notice and be informed about the tuition fee payment information.

e) Pay the tuition fee before the deadline notified in the admission notice.

For international applicants holding a foreign passport:

a) Apply through the application platform of Fudan University with program code of 667736 (register with email, fill in the application form, upload application materials and submit the online application)

b) The program office will assess the application and confirm the course selection choice with the applicants through email.

c) The International Student Office of Fudan University will assess the application to make the final admission decision.

d) Applicants will receive Admission Notice through email once admitted.

* Please note that there will be NO visa documents issued by the university for international travelling since this is an online program.



10.     Fee and Payment:

1) Application fee: 400 RMB/person

2) Tuition Fee: 20,000 RMB/person (or 18,000 RMB/person for students from Fudan partner universities with valid university enrollment certificate).

3) Deadline for Tuition Payment: tuition should be paid before the deadline notified in the admission notice. Otherwise it will be deemed as withdrawal.

4) Refund Policy:

a) Application fee is non-refundable unless the program is cancelled.

b) If the courses selected by the applicants are cancelled by the program office, applicants can either select other courses to replace the cancelled ones, or quit the program and apply for full tuition refund before 8:00 pm, December 06 2020 (Beijing time), while the application fee will NOT be refunded.

c) Refund for ANY personal reasons (Beijing time):

i. 50% of the tuition can be refunded if the request is made before 8:00 pm, December 06, 2020.

ii. 25% of the tuition can be refunded if the request is made from 8:00 pm, December 06 to 8:59 am, December 21, 2020.

iii. No refund upon requests made after 9:00 am December 21, 2020.

5) Payment method: All payments should be made via Fudan Payment Service Platform.

*NOTE:All refund mentioned above does not include the bank charges and differences caused by exchange rate changes.
