Introduction
The School of Economics at Fudan University comprises five departments: economics, world economy, international finance, public economics, and insurance. It also includes three major research centers, namely the Institute of World Economy, China Center for Economic Studies, and the Institute for Financial Studies. Additionally, the State Innovative Institute for International Competitiveness Studies of China’s Economy, funded by the "Project 985," is housed within the school.
The school's faculty and staff total 173, including 50 professors and 49 associate professors. Recognized as one of the leading institutions for economics education and research in China, the faculty consists of renowned senior economists, influential academic pacesetters, and young scholars rising to prominence.
Offering two post-doctoral programs in theoretical and applied economics, nine PhD tracks, twelve Master tracks, and six undergraduate programs, the school boasts a diverse academic curriculum. The Level-1 Discipline of Theoretical Economics and two Level-2 Disciplines of Finance and Industrial Economics are designated Key National Disciplines supported by the "Project 211." Notably, the school provides an English-taught undergraduate program in Economics and two English-taught master's programs in Chinese Economy and Finance.
The school actively engages in international collaboration, regularly exchanging research materials with foreign academic institutions. The Center for European Studies houses the first reference library of its kind established by the EU in China. The World Economic Papers, a bimonthly publication by the school, is recognized as a top national journal in economics. Furthermore, scholars from both home and abroad are frequently invited to the school to deliver lectures on various platforms, including the Jiang Xuemo Economics Lectures.
