【ONLINE APPLICATION TIMELINE】

【Step 1: ONLINE APPLICATION】

Please register at https://istudent.fudan.edu.cn/apply  to choose program and fill in the application form, upload required digital application documents listed below and complete online application. 

*For dual degree students recommended by our partners, please ask the coordinator from your universityfor your program code.

1. A photocopy of the passport

Photocopy of valid passport identification page. Passport must be an ordinary one and be valid until March 1, 2027. Applicants currently residing in China also need to provide a copy of the page containing a valid visa or residence permit.

2. Diploma of the highest degree conferred or proof of impending graduation (for applicants in their final year of study)

The document must be original or notarized copy, and should be attached with notarized English translation if the original one is not in English.

4. Two recommendation letters

The referee must be professor or associate professor. The letter should be in English and include the referee’s signature.

Applicant can upload recommendation letters by oneself or select "Send a link to recommender to fill in the recommendation letter" and the recommender can fill in the letter of recommendation online.

5. Personal statement

It should be written in English.

The content should include (but not limited to) study and work experience, academic achievement, expected research proposal, and career plan after graduation, etc. “Personal Statement” must be less than 5000 English characters.

6. Language certificate and score report

*You do not need to provide evidence of English language proficiency if you meet one of the following criteria: 

A. Your first language is English; or B. You have completed, or are completing, a degree-level course taught and assessed entirely in English.

7. Proof of No Criminal Record 

It should be in Chinese or English.

8. Proof of Financial Capacity or Financial Support

If the applicant is sponsored by others, please download and fill <Statement of Financial Support for International Students> from https://iso.fudan.edu.cn/isoenglish/wnlinewwpplication/list.htm, and submit relevant documents.

9. Applicants who apply for the scholarships have to upload <Foreigner Physical Examination Form > (in Chinese or English).

The form can be downloaded from https://iso.fudan.edu.cn/isoenglish/wnlinewwpplication/list.htm,and should be filled out in Chinese or English. The report is valid for six months.

Applicants currently residing in China may submit Residence Permit or Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card in substitute for Foreigner Physical Examination Form.

10. Other Supporting Documents

Applicants may submit additional documents which may demonstrate comprehensive abilities along with the required documents, such as award certificates or published papers.

11. Applicants who once held People’s Republic of China Travel Document or People’s Republic of China Exit and Entry Permit must submit Certificate of Renunciation of Chinese Nationality.

Notes:

★Whether the applicant has the nationality of People's Republic of China while having foreign nationality shall be subject to the conclusion of the nationality determination made by the Exit-entry administration Bureau. If the applicant is recognized as having Chinese nationality after application or enrollment, applicant’s application qualification, eligibility for admission or admission will be cancelled.

★Each applicant may not apply for Fudan’s degree programs with overlapping study periods at the same time.

★For application for a dual-degree English program set up by Fudan University in cooperation with other foreign universities, please refer to related admission requirements for each program.

★For the intake of 2026, the EMA programs at Fudan SOE do not accept the silk road scholarship applications.

【Step 2: Submit Online Application and Pay Application Fee Online (800 RMB)】

The application fee is 800 RMB (online payment, non-refundable). The application is considered invalid without paying the application fee.

【Step 3: Document Review】

Upon submission of the online application, the International Student Office and the School of Economics will undertake a review of all documents the applicant has uploaded.

【Step 4: INTERVIEW】

After you pay the online application fee, the initial review of the application materials will be conducted during the next 2 weeks. The review result will be updated in the online application system. The short-listed applicants will be invited to attend an online interview.

The online interview will last for up to 15 minutes and will be conducted by the Admission Committee comprised of 2-5 SOE professors.

All interviews will be scheduled during the working hours of Fudan University and applicants who miss the interview without prior written approval by the EMA programs office will be regarded as dropping out of the application.

【Step 5: CHECK ADMISSION RESULTS】

Applicants who pass the online interview will receive the pre-admission result from the EMA Programs Office, please check the application portal regularly. The paper admission package (issued by the ISO, FUDAN) will be sent out during the summer and the delivery status will be released on the homepage of the ISO, FUDAN.
