The other living expenses include food, local transportation, textbooks, etc. Food at the university dining halls is reasonably priced with one meal costing 8-14 yuan. Transportation costs 2 yuan per bus ride, and 3-8 yuan per metro ride.
4 Is there any scholarship for international students of UIPE?
A: Yes. In addition to the scholarship opportunities you may find at http://www.campuschina.org, SOE offers the Dean’s Scholarship at the end of each academic year to the top international students of UIPE, which amounts up to half of the paid annual tuition.
5 What choices do I have when it comes to meals?
Fudan University offers many options catering to the diverse tastes and preferences of its students, faculty, and staff. Close to the dorm is the North Canteen which offers a wide variety of cuisines, and SOE students usually go to the smaller one in front of the 6th lecture building where most of our courses take place, or Nanyuan Dining Hall which is around 200 meters away. There is also a range of cafes on campus, such as the one on the second floor of SOE, and the one at the entrance of the library.
6 How can I apply for a dorm room?
A: If you want to stay at the Foreign Students Dormitory on campus, you will need to book a room online at https://isdorm.fudan.edu.cn/user/login and information about the dorm can be found at https://iso.fudan.edu.cn/isoenglish/16212/list.htm. The notice about dorm booking will be posted on the website of the ISO, usually during the summer vacation. Before booking please read carefully the Introduction to the Foreign Students Dormitory and the Accommodation Regulations on the ISO website.
The Reception Desk of the Fudan Foreign Students Dormitory is open 24 hours a day.
7 How do I enroll in courses? Which courses should I take?
A: Undergraduate students enroll in courses at http://xk.fudan.edu.cn/
Enroll in courses according to your study plan which lists the compulsory and elective courses of your program.
8 How can I download course materials online?
A: Course materials are usually posted in the canvas system.
9 I have an IELTS score or a TOEFL score or an HSK 4 certificate. Can I apply for exemption from the language courses?
A: Yes, it is possible. The university has requirements about the numerical level of the IELTS or TOEFL scores.
10 Is there free WIFI on campus?
A: Students have access to the University’s high-speed network upon enrollment. In most teaching areas, you can use free WIFI (SSID: iFudan.1x, iFudanNG.1x).
11 Leaving School:
(1)If I plan to leave the university early, how can I get my rent refunded?
A: We can issue a Certificate of Student Status with which you can apply for refund from the Foreign Students Dormitory.
(2)There is still money left on my E-campus card but I am leaving Fudan. How can I get the money back?
A: You can go to the card center on Handan Campus to cancel the card and get the remaining amount back.
