Jean- Joseph Boillot holds a doctorate in economics and is a professor of economic and social sciencesHe taught at the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris and worked in Asia as a research associate at CEPII (Center for Prospective Studies and International Information) . After multiple visits to India and China in the 1980s, he presented his thesis in 1989 on the Indian model of development especially compared to China.

He joined the Ministry of Finance in 1990 as an economic adviser, to monitor the transition process in the major emerging areas of the world : Central and Eastern Europe,  the former Soviet Union, Asia and the emerging Chinese world. He then worked as a financial advisor on India and Southeast Asia for the French Treasury Department in Delhi between 2003 and 2005 .

He returned to Paris in 2006 as a specialist on India and China, dividing his time between specialized courses in these countries and the provision of advice to government agencies and large enterprises as well as the club CEPII where he's been running the 'emerging countries' cycle since 2007. In this context, he has opened a new field of research around the rise of Africa and its impact on the two Asian giants that has led to the development of the concept of ' Chindiafrique ' .

Presented at several conferences in 2011 and 2012 , it is also the title of a book published in January 2013. Of this book, there are two ideas to retain : the notion of ' giant triangle ' as a new space structuring of the world economy in 2030 and the importance of the concept of 'business models ' in the construction of this space with the concepts of 'frugal' or 'disruptive' innovations.

Jean-Jospeh Boillot is the co- founder of the Euro-India economic & Business Group ( EIEBG ), a member of the editorial board of the specialized magazine Alternatives Economiquesa member of the EuroIndia Center, a member of the France- India Union and Confrontation Europe Association.
