Angela Zhou

Hello! My name is Angela Zhou 周薇 and I come from Italy. I'm a double-degree graduate student in my last year at the EMA (English Master's) program at the School of Economics. I completed my first Master's in the Netherlands, at the Univerisity of Groningen, achieving a degree in Marketing Management. In the coming year, at Fudan, I'll be completing the second part of the double degree with a Master's in International Business. Prior to this, I completed my undergraduate studies in Venice Italy, at the University of Ca' Foscari, with a Bachelor's degree in Business administration and Management. During the pandemic, I also participated in the Global Open Courses organized by Peking University, which allowed students to attend courses on the Chinese economy remotely. After taking them, I felt motivated to dive deeper into the subject, which led me to where I am today, Fudan University.

Beyond academic interests, my cultural heritage as a 华裔 (of Chinese ethnicity) has always been a significant part of my identity. Despite being born and raised in Italy, I have made a concerted effort throughout my life to maintain a connection with my Chinese roots by taking Chinese language classes and staying updated with current events in China. This deep-rooted fascination with Chinese culture and my desire to understand its economic dynamics played a pivotal role in my decision to come to Fudan University.

Fudan University's reputation as a global academic powerhouse, coupled with its strategic location in Shanghai, one of the world's foremost financial and business hubs, made it the perfect destination to continue my educational journey. The prospect of studying International Business at Fudan, in the heart of a city known for its economic prowess and international outlook, was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my choice to study at Fudan University represents the confluence of my academic aspirations and personal interests. It is here that I can seamlessly merge my background in marketing management with a deepening understanding of the Chinese economy, all while staying connected to my cultural heritage. Fudan's world-class faculty, diverse student body, and its position at the crossroads of East and West make it the ideal platform for me to gain the knowledge and experiences I seek to shape my future endeavors in the field of international business. I eagerly anticipate the intellectual challenges and personal growth that await me at Fudan. I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter of my academic journey.
