On 5 June 2023, the EMA Class of 2023 gathered together for their graduation ceremony. With a mixture of nostalgia and pride, we celebrated the completion of our academic journey. Miss Célia Bonnaffoux, our ceremony moderator, welcomed the guests and introduced the faculty members present.

EMA students listened intently as Prof. Zhang Jun, Dean of the School of Economics, delivered an inspiring graduation speech, urging them to make a positive impact on the world and to never forget their time here at Fudan and the SOE.

Prof. Liu Yu from the School of Economics followed, emphasising the importance of resilience in the face of the global economy and the importance of understanding China as a global economic player.

Miss Daniela Andrea Maquera Sardon, a representative of EMA class, then took the stage and gave a heartfelt speech thanking the faculty, families and friends who had supported them throughout their educational journey and emphasising the strength the students had shown as part of the first cohort of international students to return to China after the pandemic.

The turning of the tassel marked the completion of the Master's programme as the professors moved it from the right to the left side of the hats. A group photo with the faculty members captured the milestone moment and symbolised the students’ time at SOE. After the ceremony, the EMA class attended the graduation party where the students were able to relax, celebrate and cherish the memories they had made during the time together.
