Recently the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) Council has appointed Prof. Zhang Zhongxiang the Chinese representative for EAERE. Prof. Zhang is a distinguished professor at the school who has come to work in Fudan under the “National Plan to Recruit Thousands of High-level Talents with Overseas Education and Work Experience.”
The European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists was founded in the early 1990s in
Italy
, and Prof. Henk Folmer, supervisor of Prof. Zhang’s PhD dissertation, was the first president of the association. Now EAERE is the world’s biggest association of environmental and resource economics, with thousands of members from more than 80 countries and regions. The annual conference held by the association is the most influential academic event in environmental and resource economics.
Prof. Zhang Zhongxiang made his first EAERE annual conference presentation in 1995 and has served on the program committee for the conference many times since 2002.
The EAERE Council believes that the long-term interaction and mutual trust built and kept between Prof. Zhang Zhongxiang and the Chinese and Western academia will definitely help facilitate interaction between EAERE and Chinese scholars and boost the presence of EAERE in
