The 5th Annual SEBA-GATE Workshop, co-organized by the Business School (SEBA) at Beijing Normal University, the School of Economics at Fudan University and GATE Lyon Saint-Etienne, was held at Fudan on April 28 and 29, 2014. It started with opening speeches by Prof. Yuan Zhigang, Dean of Fudan School of Economics, Prof. Lai Desheng, Dean of SEBA, and Prof. Marie-Claire Villeval, Director of GATE Lyon Saint-Etienne. Following two keynote speeches by Prof. Marie-Claire Villeval on “Social Networks and Peer Pressure at Work” and Prof. Li Shi (Beijing Normal University) on “Income Distribution in China: An Overview”, the participants from the three institutions and some other universities presented 25 papers on labor economics, public economics, macroeconomics and finance. The organizers expect increased research exchange and cooperation among the institutions and their researchers following the workshop.
