The Awarding Ceremony of the 5th Zhang Peigang Development Economics Prize and 2014 China's Economic Development Forum were held in Wuhan on Oct 25-26. Six scholars were awarded the prize this year, including Prof. Chen Shiyi from our school and Professor Wei Shangjin from Columbia Business School who is also a Fudan alumnus.
Prof. Chen won the prize for his book Energy, Environment and Economic Transformation in China, which was published in 2013 by Routledge Taylor & Francis Group. Prof. Wei's prize-winning work is 'Tracing Value-Added and Double Counting in Gross Exports' (American Economic Review, 104(2): 459-94, Co-authors Robert Koopman, Zhi Wang)
Prof. Chen and Prof. Wei delivered speeches at the forum. Prof. Zhang Jun, Director of the China Center for Economic Studies at Fudan University, also gave a speech on behalf of the previous award winners.
