On May 31st, School of Economics, Fudan successfully completed the thesis defense of Fudan-Paris1 Double Degree Program 2016. Students were divided into two groups while the defense committee of each group was composed of professors from both Fudan University and Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne. Members of the Committee were Prof. Cheng Dazhong, Prof. Huang Yajun, Prof. Wu Libo and Prof. Lu Hanyin from SOE as well as Prof. Lorenzo Cassi and Prof. Biagio Speciale from Paris1. There were altogether 14 Chinese students and 3 foreign students taking part in the defense.
The Chair of the Defense Committee announced the process, disciplines and precautions of the defense before it started. The process consisted of students' presentation and Q&A. During the defense, the students presented their research achievements and answered the questions raised by the Committee in details and appreciated the precious suggestions from the committee members.
Thesis defense is an examination on the graduate students' study outcomes. SOE had higher requirements on thesis. So every student and mentor had put greater effort in the whole process from thesis establishment, writing to modification. Though challenging, it provided the student with a platform to prove their abilities and improve themselves. This also reflected an improvement of the quality of SOE's international programs.
