Introduction

2023 Summer Camp for High School Students on Chinese Economy and Finance Lecture Series (Offline) & Research Workshop (Online) is held by the School of Economics, Fudan University, aiming to provide an opportunity for outstanding high school students to experience learning at a world-leading university, to explore their interests and potentials, and think about whether they want to pursue studying economics at the university level.

The Camp contains five lectures, covering topics like China’s past and present, international trade, international finance, taxation, economic research methods. Furthermore, after the lecture series, the Camp encourages students to form research groups and conduct a research project based on shared interest in certain economic and finance topics. They will be guided by experienced teaching assistants in regards to literature review, research methodology, data collection and analysis, and expected conclusion. In the end, they will make a group presentation about their research project and receive comments and suggestions from professors.

Eligibility

Current or newly graduated high school students with excellent academic performance and a strong interest in economics.

*Please note that this program is only open to Chinese citizens from China’s Mainland, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

Schedule

Chinese Economy and Finance Lecture Series

Duration: July 10 - July 14, 2023

Location: Handan Campus, Fudan University

Assessment: Comprehensive assessments of attendance, quizzes, etc.

Certificate: Students who participate in all the lectures and pass all the quizzes will be awarded the certificate issued by Fudan University (non-degree education).

Chinese Economy and Finance Research Workshop

*Please note that only students who attend all the lectures, pass all quizzes, and receive the certificate of the "2023 Summer Camp on Chinese Economics and Finance Lecture Series" are eligible to apply for the research workshop.

Duration: July 24 - July 30, 2023

Teaching Method: Online

Assessment: Group project report and presentation

Certificate: Students will be awarded the certificate issued by Fudan University (with letter grades, non-degree education).

 How to apply

●  Apply via http://register.fudan.edu.cn/

●  Create an account and search for the program named “2023 Chinese Economy and Finance Lecture Series” in the English version. (Click the small earth icon in the upper right corner to turn into the English version first.)

●  Then, click “Apply” to fill in the application and upload the supporting documents.

●  After submitting the application, applicants will be notified to pay the application fee (CNY 100) by email.

●  The online application cannot be reviewed and processed unless the application fee is paid.

●  Once admitted, applicants will receive an admission notice with the tuition payment information.

●  Students who obtain the certificate of "2023 Summer Camp for High School Students on Chinese Economy and Finance Lecture Series" will be notified to apply for the following research workshop.

Refund Policy

Please note that the refund will be returned to the original payment account in RMB only. The bank charges and differences caused by exchange rate changes are not included in each refund.

Chinese Economy and Finance Lecture Series

a)        Students can apply for a full refund of the registration fee and tuition fee upon program cancellation.

b)        Refunds due to any personal reason:

●   50% of the paid tuition fee can be refunded before 24:00, June 26, 2023

●   25% of the paid tuition fee can be refunded from June 27 to July 3 24:00, 2023

●   No refunds are granted after July 4, 2023

Chinese Economy and Finance Research Workshop

Students can obtain a full refund upon program cancellation. No refunds will be granted for other circumstances.
