General Information
The predecessor of the school, the Business Division of Fudan, started to recruit postgraduate students in 1928. In 1949, the Department of Economics and the Institute of Economics admitted 90 postgraduate students, who were among the first postgraduate students of the P. R. China. In 1981, the School of Economics became one of the first institutions in China that offered master and PhD degrees.
Every year the school recruits around 300 master students and 50 PhD students. While about half of the postgraduate students are admitted through the entrance exam, top undergraduate students can apply for a master or PhD program of the school without having to take the entrance exam. 
The school offers double-degree porgrams in joint effort with 11 partners based on the two English-taught master programs.
A wide range of postgraduate courses are available including short intensive courses taught by famous economists from overseas.
